Celebrating 50 Years of Service

The Jessie Trice Community Health Center celebrates 50th years of providing quality and affordable healthcare services to the South Florida community. In recognition of reaching this unprecedented milestone, JTCHC recently hosted its 50th Anniversary Gala. During the celebration, the organization announced that it has officially changed its corporate name to Jessie Trice Community Health System.

“For five decades the Jessie Trice Community Health Center has been committed to ensuring that residents of our community have access to quality, yet affordable healthcare,” says President and CEO, Annie Neasman. “The new name change reflects our growth as a health organization and our ongoing commitment to providing a wide-range of health services to the South Florida community.”

Highlights of the 50th Anniversary Gala included an awards presentation, musical performances and a special reveal of the health center’s name change and logo. The gala was generously sponsored by Rudy Larrimore, Jackson Health System, Mutual of America, Synergy

JTCHS’s Opa Locka Children’s Wellness Center Hosts Live Cooking Demo with Celebrity Chef

In an effort to encourage healthy eating habits in a fun, meaningful and engaging way, the Jessie Trice Community Health System hosted a “Live Healthy Cooking Demo” with Chef Richard Ingraham. Chef Ingraham is personal chef to NBA All-Star, Dwyane Wade and wife/actress Gabrielle Union. This free event took place at the JTCHS – Opa-Locka Children’s Wellness Center.

During the live demo, Chef Ingraham demonstrated a number of healthy, affordable and delightful meals for the JTCHS’s pediatric patients and their families. Attendees not only received an opportunity to watch the cooking demonstration, but also participated in the experience by creating their own dishes under the guidance of Chef Ingraham and his assistant, Chef Natasha Wong. Among the delightful menu selections featured were: Mexican lasagna, fresh fruit and veggie juice and a yogurt parfait for the perfect dessert.

Jessie Trice Community Health System Receives Top Honors from the Health Resources Services Administration

The Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS) has been named a “Health Center Quality Leader” by the U.S. Health and Human Services’ Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA).

“We are committed to providing quality health care services to all in the South Florida community,” says Annie Neasman, President and CEO of JTCHS. “This recognition is a tremendous honor for us, and we are delighted to be among the top in the nation for delivering effective, proven and affordable healthcare services to our patients.”

In a letter sent to Neasman from HRSA Administrator, George Sigounas, MS, Ph.D., shared that  “As a Health Care Quality Leader, Jessie Trice Community Health System achieved the best overall clinical performance among all health centers, placing in the top 30 percent of the adjusted quartile rankings for Clinical Quality Measures.  Thank you for your commitment to providing quality primary health care services to your community.”
